A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Mr. David Young; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mr. David Young has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Young has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community as evidenced dramatically by his superlative service with the Dade County Board of Commissioners; and

WHEREAS, during his tenure as a commissioner, Mr. Young was instrumental in obtaining funding for critical road projects in the Cloverdale Road area; and

WHEREAS, he supported the work of the Local Issuing Authority and important initiatives such as soil and sedimentation issues and the use of Land Use Management handbooks for contractors, developers, and citizens in Dade County; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Young demonstrated significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience and diplomacy, a keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of Dade County during his time as a commissioner which earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and

WHEREAS, due to Mr. Young's dedicated service, Dade County has provided its many esteemed citizens with an exceptional quality of life and a welcoming home, and it is abundantly fitting that he be appropriately recognized for his outstanding public service.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend former Commissioner David Young for his wise and diligent leadership of Dade County and extend to him their sincere best wishes for his future health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. David Young.
