A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to public housing.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 356D, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§356D-    Clotheslines permitted.  The installation and use of clotheslines shall be permitted in any public housing project, as defined in section 356D-1, or state low-income housing project, as defined in section 356D-51, subject to rules adopted by the authority to effectuate this section in a manner that protects the safety and security of the project and its residents, staff, and guests."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
