A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to the university of hawaii.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $6,670,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2023-2024 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2024-2025 for the Hawaii climate-smart commodities program of the college of tropical agriculture and human resources of the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii at Manoa for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $1,000,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2023-2024 to continue the STEM training for students through the Hawaii space flight laboratory.
The sum appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $3,000,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2023-2024 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2024-2025 for the center for pacific innovations, knowledge, and opportunities.
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $1,000,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2023-2024 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2024-2025 for the change Hawaii project and Hawaii mesonet project to stimulate competitive research.
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 5. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $125,000,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2023-2024 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2024-2025 for a prototype designer artificial coral reef project.
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 6. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2023.
