The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
county
and
city
regulation
of
rental
8
housing
and
federal
housing
choice
voucher
use.
Under
current
9
law,
a
county
or
a
city
shall
not
adopt
or
enforce
an
ordinance
10
or
regulation
that
prohibits
a
person
having
the
right
to
11
lease,
sublease,
or
rent
out
a
dwelling
unit
from
refusing
12
to
rent
a
dwelling
out
to
a
person
because
the
person
is
13
using
a
federal
housing
choice
voucher.
A
“dwelling
unit”
14
means
a
structure
or
the
part
of
a
structure
that
is
used
as
15
a
home,
residence,
or
sleeping
place.
The
bill
strikes
this
16
prohibition
on
counties
and
cities.
