Bill Title: Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill with the following changes. In provisions in the Gun Trafficking Information Act about the Illinois State Police making certain information publicly available, adds information required to be reported or published on the Illinois State Police's website under specified provisions of the Firearms Restraining Order Act. Further amends the Illinois State Police Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Removes references to the Arsonist Registration Act and the Illinois Gambling Act. Modifies provisions relating to the functions of the Division of Criminal Investigation. Adds a cross-reference to a reference to the prohibited persons portal. Makes other changes. Amends the Illinois State Police Act. Provides that a contract between the Illinois State Police and the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to provide policing service for the Authority may include costs incurred by the State with respect to uniforms, equipment, and supplies, which shall be Illinois State Police property, (rather than uniforms, equipment, and supplies) used by employees assigned to the policing service. Provides that the Illinois State Police shall divide into zones, troops, or regions (rather than districts, zones, or troops). Amends the School Code. Provides that, upon receipt of any written, electronic, or verbal report of a verified incident involving a firearm in a school or on school owned or leased property from a superintendent or his or her designee to the local law enforcement authority, the local law enforcement authority shall report to the Illinois State Police in a form, manner, and frequency as prescribed by the Illinois State Police. Effective immediately, except that some provisions take effect January 1, 2024.
