AN ACT concerning education.
| ||||
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||
represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||
Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section | ||||
2-3.176 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/2-3.176 new) | ||||
Sec. 2-3.176. Work-based learning database. | ||||
(a) In this Section, "work-based learning" means an | ||||
educational strategy that provides students with real-life | ||||
work experiences in which they can apply academic and technical | ||||
skills and develop their employability. | ||||
(b) The State Board must develop a work-based learning | ||||
database to help facilitate relationships between school | ||||
districts and businesses and expand work-based learning in this | ||||
State.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||
becoming law.
