1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of John Henry Schultz of Park City, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on March 20, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, John Schultz was born to Fred and Kathryn Schultz | ||||||
6 | on June 19, 1925; he graduated from Waukegan High School and | ||||||
7 | attended Illinois State Normal University; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, John Schultz was employed by the National Office | ||||||
9 | Supply Company of Waukegan (NOSCO) as a pressman; he was | ||||||
10 | inducted into the U.S. Army Air Corps on September 10, 1943 and | ||||||
11 | became a B-25 pilot; he was discharged on November 24, 1945 and | ||||||
12 | continued his military flying career in the Illinois Air | ||||||
13 | National Guard; he returned to NOSCO and became a foreman; he | ||||||
14 | retired as plant supervisor; and

15 | WHEREAS, John Schultz was a member of the American Legion, | ||||||
16 | Sharvin Post #397 in North Chicago, where he was elected to | ||||||
17 | several officer positions, including post commander; he served | ||||||
18 | as adjutant of the post for many years and as state advisor to | ||||||
19 | the Department of Illinois Sons of the American Legion; he was | ||||||
20 | a past 10th district commander of the American Legion and was | ||||||
21 | the drum major of the nationally known Sharvin Post Red Jackets | ||||||
22 | Drum and Bugle Corps; he was also a member of the Moose; he |

1 | dedicated his life to serving our nations's veterans, the | ||||||
2 | American Legion, and their honor society, the 40 and 8, where | ||||||
3 | he was also a commander of the local Voiture; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, John Schultz was preceded in death by his brother, | ||||||
5 | Richard Schultz; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, John Schultz is survived by his wife of 74 years, | ||||||
7 | Evelyn; his children, John F. Schultz (Barbara), Robert Schultz | ||||||
8 | (Pam), Karen Johnson, Gail Marcelain (Mark), and Diane Grimm | ||||||
9 | (Armin); 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; his sister, | ||||||
10 | Marie Worth; and his brother, William Schultz; therefore, be it

11 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
12 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
13 | John Henry Schultz and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
14 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
15 | further

16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
17 | presented to the family of John Schultz as an expression of our | ||||||
18 | deepest sympathy.
