2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Rocklin Dale Akins of Colona, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on August 14, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Rocklin Akins was born to Burlan and Velma Wilson | ||||||
6 | Akins in Ironton, Missouri on February 5, 1949; he served in | ||||||
7 | the Marines during the Vietnam War; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Rocklin Akins worked at the Rock Island Arsenal as | ||||||
9 | a Weapons System Manager; he retired in 2004; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Rocklin Akins was a member of the American Legion; | ||||||
11 | and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Rocklin Akins enjoyed motorcycles, firearms, | ||||||
13 | playing guitar, and golfing; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Rocklin Akins was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
15 | and an infant son, Shane; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Rocklin Akins is survived by his sister, Bobby Sue | ||||||
17 | (Larry) Sadler, and his friends, Robert (Dana Hamilton) DeReu | ||||||
18 | and Cyndi (Shawn) Webster; therefore, be it

2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

3 | Rocklin Akins and extend our sincere
condolences to his family, | ||||||
4 | friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it further

5 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
