2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Constance T. "Connie" Montgomery of | ||||||
4 | Cresco, Pennsylvania, formerly of Chicago, who passed away on | ||||||
5 | July 13, 2020; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Connie Montgomery was born in Savannah, Georgia to | ||||||
7 | Eddie Mazo and Florence (George) Mazo; she graduated from | ||||||
8 | Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; she earned | ||||||
9 | her master's degrees from Roosevelt University and the | ||||||
10 | University of Illinois; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Connie Montgomery taught and was an administrator | ||||||
12 | at DuSable High School in Chicago; she later served as the | ||||||
13 | principal of Future Commons High School in Chicago; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Connie Montgomery was a devoted member of the | ||||||
15 | gospel choir at St. James Catholic Church in Chicago; she spent | ||||||
16 | countless hours serving on numerous non-profit boards and | ||||||
17 | passionately helped those in need; she will be greatly missed; | ||||||
18 | and

19 | WHEREAS, Connie Montgomery was preceded in death by her | ||||||
20 | parents; and

1 | WHEREAS, Connie Montgomery is survived by her son, David | ||||||
2 | Montgomery; her daughter, Debra (Lawrence) Esposito; and her | ||||||
3 | granddaughter, Nia Esposito; therefore, be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | Constance T. "Connie" Montgomery and extend our sincere | ||||||
7 | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
8 | her; and be it further

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Connie Montgomery as an expression | ||||||
11 | of our deepest sympathy.
