Summary

Handgun training. Requires a person who applies after December 31, 2020, for a license to carry a handgun to first complete an eight hour handgun safety and training program, unless the person is a law enforcement officer, a retired law enforcement officer, or an active or honorably discharged member of the armed forces of the United States. Eliminates a requirement that an applicant for a handgun license must inform the officer to whom the application is made of the reason the applicant is applying for the license. Makes conforming amendments.
