HOUSE BILL No. 4188

     A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled

 

"The revised school code,"

 

(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1177b.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 1177b. (1) The board of a school district or intermediate

 

school district, board of directors of a public school academy, or

 

governing body of a nonpublic school shall not require a child to

 

receive a vaccination against influenza as a condition to allowing

 

the child to attend school and shall ensure that a school official

 

or employee of the school district, intermediate school district,

 

public school academy, or nonpublic school does not require a child

 

to receive a vaccination against influenza as a condition to

 

allowing the child to attend school.

 

     (2) The department of public health shall not include the

 

influenza vaccination as an immunization required under section

 

1177.
