HOUSE BILL No. 5900

 

November 6, 2014, Introduced by Reps. Singh, Zemke, McCann, Kandrevas, Faris, Slavens, Lane, Dianda, Irwin and Cavanagh and referred to the Committee on Appropriations.

 

     A bill to amend 1979 PA 94, entitled

 

"The state school aid act of 1979,"

 

(MCL 388.1601 to 388.1896) by adding section 236d.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 236d. In addition to the funds appropriated in section

 

236, $2,100,000.00 is appropriated in fiscal year 2014-2015 from

 

the general fund for Michigan educational opportunity grants under

 

1986 PA 273, MCL 390.1401 to 390.1409.

 

     Enacting section 1. In accordance with section 30 of article

 

IX of the state constitution of 1963, total state spending from

 

state sources for higher education for fiscal year 2014-2015 under

 

2014 PA 196 and this amendatory act is estimated at

 

$1,421,569,900.00 and the amount of that state spending from state

 

sources to be paid to local units of government for fiscal year

 

2014-2015 is estimated at $0.
