1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to workforce development; appropriating money for a youth job corps
1.3program.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5    Section 1. ST. PAUL YOUTH JOBS CORPS; APPROPRIATION.
1.6$600,000 in fiscal year 2013, and each fiscal year thereafter, is appropriated from
1.7the general fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a
1.8grant to the city of St. Paul for the youth job corps program. Grant funds may be used to
1.9provide summer employment opportunities for youth who reside in the city of St. Paul
1.10and who are between the ages of 14 and 21 years, are economically disadvantaged, or are
1.11considered to be "at risk" youth. No more than one percent of the amount appropriated
1.12may be retained by the department for administrative expenses.
