A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING SARAH JAYDE BOBO UPON HER ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS MISS MISSISSIPPI TEEN USA 2011 AND EXTENDING ENCOURAGEMENT FOR HER SUCCESS AT THE 2011 MISS TEEN USA PAGEANT ON JULY 16, 2011.

     WHEREAS, Miss Sarah Jayde Bobo, of Corinth, Mississippi, was crowned Miss Mississippi Teen USA 2011, on November 6, 2010, after competing against other contestants in the Miss Mississippi Teen USA Pageant held at the Harrah's Event Center in Tunica; and

     WHEREAS, Miss Bobo's victory as Miss Mississippi Teen USA has afforded her the opportunity to continue the legacy of representing the southern style, grace and elegance that has been the tradition of each Miss Mississippi Teen USA to wear the crown as our state's ambassador at the Miss Teen USA Pageant, to be held on July 16, 2011, at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, Bahamas; and

     WHEREAS, an active and outgoing student during her high school preparatory years at Kossuth High School, Sarah, a member of the Class of 2010, graduated with honors as a member of the National Honor Society, Who's Who Among American High School Students, Homecoming Princess, Senior Class Secretary and represents the institution as one of its brightest and most celebrated alumnus; and

     WHEREAS, this former Miss Kossuth High School continues her legacy of academic success and service as a student at Northeast Mississippi Community College, where she is a Dean's List Scholar, member of Phi Theta Kappa, member of the Student Government Association, member of the Tiger Dance Team and Freshman Homecoming Maid, while in pursuit of her degree in business administration; and

     WHEREAS, Miss Bobo's beauty, poise, grace and experience overwhelmingly impressed the panel of judges, thereby enabling her to capture the 2011 title as Miss Mississippi Teen USA's pageantry queen; and

     WHEREAS, as Miss Mississippi Teen USA, Sarah, who is an ardent advocate for abstinence and promotion of self-esteem, travels the state promoting her platform of empowering young people to make choices that will have a lasting positive impact on their lives; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, as evidenced by the beautiful and talented young lady of distinction, Miss Sarah Jayde Bobo, who has brought honor to her community, her college and her state:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Sarah Jayde Bobo, Miss Mississippi Teen USA 2011, for the contributions she has made as an ambassador for our state, and extend best wishes for continued success at the 2011 Miss Teen USA Pageant and in all of her future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Sarah Jayde Bobo and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
