Senate Bill 2349

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE AND DIRECT THE STATE VETERANS AFFAIRS BOARD TO DEDICATE THE COURTYARD AT THE MISSISSIPPI STATE VETERANS HOME IN COLLINS, MISSISSIPPI, IN HONOR OF VOLUNTEER CHAPLAIN JAMES CARROLL (BROTHER JAKE) SANFORD AND THE VETERANS OUTREACH PROGRAM OF MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Mississippi State Veterans Affairs Board is hereby authorized and directed to officially dedicate the courtyard located at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Collins, Mississippi, in honor of Volunteer Chaplain James Carroll (Brother Jake) Sanford and his family for their contributions and ministry to Mississippi veterans through the Veterans Outreach of Mississippi 501(c)(3) organization.  The board shall place a plaque in the courtyard dedicated to this ministry with the cost thereof to be defrayed from private sources.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
