A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to abolish the office of coroner in rutherford county at the end of the current term.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  The office of coroner in Rutherford County is abolished.

SECTION 2.  Chapter 152 of the General Statutes is not applicable to Rutherford County.

SECTION 3.  This act becomes effective upon the expiration of the term of the current coroner in Rutherford County. No election shall be held in Rutherford County in 2010 for that position.
