A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to increase the entry‑level base pay for teachers.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Effective July 1, 2015, the entry‑level base pay for teachers is increased from thirty‑three thousand dollars ($33,000) to thirty‑five thousand dollars ($35,000) for ten months of employment.

SECTION 2.  Funds are appropriated from the General Fund to implement this act for the fiscal biennium ending June 30, 2017, according to the following schedule:
