Summary

This bill would: (1) Permit a court to order any person duly charged with a violent felony offense to undergo a blood test to detect a transmissible disease in certain circumstances; (2) Define transmissible disease; (3) Establish certain privacy requirements for test information disclosure; (4) Provide for the use of voluntary blood tests where there is agreement by all parties; (5) Prohibit the use of blood test information obtained or discovered from the blood test to be used as evidence at the violent felony offender's trial; and (6) Provide that a person convicted of a violent felony offense must pay the cost of any blood test ordered by the court.
