Summary

This legislation would expand New York's net metering law by adding fuel cells to the list of currently eligible renewable technologies, which includes wind, solar, and farm waste electric generating equipment; raising the size of eligible technology systems to 2 megawatts; allowing all customer classes to engage in net metering, and removing the cap on the amount of on-site generation eligible for net metering within each utility territory.
