STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 5254 2019-2020 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY February 8, 2019 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. WEPRIN -- read once and referred to the Committee on Cities AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to repair or replacement of damaged residential lateral sewer and water pipes The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The administrative code of the city of New York is amended 2 by adding two new sections 24-316.1 and 24-531 to read as follows: 3 § 24-316.1 Water lateral pipe repair or replacement. The city of New 4 York shall be responsible for the repair or replacement of all damaged 5 residential lateral water pipes where such pipes have been damaged as a 6 result of the actions or negligence of the city of New York or a utility 7 company. 8 § 24-531 Sewer lateral pipe repair or replacement. The city of New 9 York shall be responsible for the repair or replacement of all damaged 10 residential lateral sewer pipes where such pipes have been damaged as a 11 result of the actions or negligence of the city of New York or a utility 12 company. 13 § 2.
