LENTOL -- read once and referred to the Committee on Real Property Taxation -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee -- reference changed to the Committee on Cities -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to authorize Moses Jacobowitz Charitable Foundation to file an application for exemption from water and sewer charges The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, 2 the commissioner of the New York city department of environmental 3 protection is hereby authorized to accept from Moses Jacobowitz Charita- 4 ble Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation, an application for 5 exemption from water and sewer charges pursuant to Chapter 696 of the 6 laws of 1887, as amended, for the fiscal years of 2014 through 2015, for 7 the parcel owned by such corporation in the city of New York, borough of 8 Brooklyn, designated as block 1750, lot 21 in such borough. If accepted, 9 the application shall be reviewed as if it had been received for fiscal 10 years 2014 through 2015. 11 If satisfied that such corporation would otherwise be entitled to such 12 exemption if such corporation had filed an application for exemption for 13 fiscal years 2014 through 2015, the commissioner of the New York city 14 department of environmental protection, upon approval by the city coun- 15 cil of the city of New York, may grant exemption from all water and 16 sewer charges with respect to the subject water and sewer charges due 17 and owing by such corporation on the effective date of this act and 18 cancel charges, fines, penalties and interest remaining unpaid. 19 § 2.
