        Introduced  by  Sen.  MARCELLINO  -- read twice and ordered printed, and
          when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation
        AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in  relation  to  requiring
          driver responsibility assessments to be assessed and billed to a driv-
          er  within  three  years  of  the  date of the traffic infraction that
          resulted in the assessment
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 503 of the vehicle and traffic law
     2  is amended by adding a new paragraph (e-1) to read as follows:
     3    (e-1)  Any  driver  responsibility assessments imposed pursuant to the
     4  provisions of this subdivision shall be assessed and billed to the driv-
     5  er responsible for the assessment within three years of the date of  the
     6  traffic infraction that resulted in the assessment.
     7    §  2. This act shall take effect on the first of January next succeed-
     8  ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
