       AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to including the Sacanda-
         ga  River within the definition of "inland waterways" for the purposes
         of waterfront revitalization
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 911 of the executive law, as sepa-
    2  rately  amended by chapters 9 and 184 of the laws of 2010, is amended to
    3  read as follows:
    4    4. "Inland waterways" shall mean (a) the state's  major  inland  lakes
    5  consisting  of  lakes Big Tupper, Black, Canandaigua, Cayuga, Champlain,
    6  Chautauqua, Conesus, Cranberry, George, Great Sacandaga, Honoeye,  Indi-
    7  an, Keuka, Long, Mirror, Oneida, Onondaga, Otisco, Otsego, Owasco, Plac-
    8  id,  Raquette, Ronkonkoma, Sacandaga, Saratoga, Schroon, Seneca, Skanea-
    9  teles, Silver (in the county of Wyoming) and  Saranac,  and  the  Fulton
   10  chain  of  lakes; (b) the state's major rivers comprised of the Ausable,
   11  Black, Boquet, Canisteo, Chaumont  (including  Chaumont  bay),  Chemung,
   12  Cohocton,  Delaware,  Deer, Genesee, Grasse, Hudson north of the federal
   13  dam at Troy, Indian, Little (in  the  Adirondack  park),  Little  Salmon
   14  (including  north  and  south branches), Mad, Mettowee, Mohawk, Oswegat-
   15  chie, Racquette, SACANDAGA,  Salmon,  Saranac,  Susquehanna,  Tioga  and
   16  Tioughnioga  rivers,  and  the  north  and  middle branches of the Moose
   17  river; (c) the state's major creeks comprised of the Bushkill, Cincinna-
   18  ti, East  Kill,  Esopus  (including  upper  and  lower  branches),  Fish
   19  (including  east and west branches), Gooseberry, Little Sandy, Onondaga,
   20  Sandy, Schoharie, South Sandy, Oatka and Tonawanda and  West  Kill;  (d)
   21  the  Barge  Canal System as defined in section two of the canal law; and
        EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets

    1  (e) the adjacent shorelands to the extent that such  inland  waters  and
    2  adjacent  lands are strongly influenced by each other including, but not
    3  limited to, islands, wetlands, beaches, dunes, barrier islands,  cliffs,
    4  bluffs and erosion prone areas.
    5    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
