Summary

As introduced, requires the Tennessee peace officer standards and training commission to submit the curriculum requirements concerning the use of citations in lieu of arrest, domestic violence training, and proper procedures to respond to persons with mental illnesses by February 1, 2024, to the chair of the senate judiciary committee and the chair of the criminal justice committee of the house of representatives; requires the commission to also submit any proposed amendments to those requirements to the same chairs at least 60 days prior to the amendments being implemented. - Amends TCA Title 8 and Title 38.
