relating to a state of disaster declared by the governor because of | ||
COVID-19. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 418.014, Government Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: | ||
(f) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), the governor may not | ||
declare a state of disaster because of COVID-19. In this | ||
subsection, "COVID-19" means the coronavirus disease 2019. | ||
SECTION 2. As provided by Section 418.014(c), Government | ||
Code, the state of disaster declared by the governor in Tex. Gov. | ||
Proclamation No. 41-3720, 45 Tex. Reg. 2094 (2020), as renewed, is | ||
terminated. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
