| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 85, Election Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 85.0092 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 85.0092. OPTIONAL EARLY VOTING ELECTION OFFICER | ||
| SHIFTS. (a) In selecting election officers for the main early | ||
| voting polling place and any branch polling place, the county clerk | ||
| may select a sufficient number of presiding judges, alternate | ||
| presiding judges, and other election officers to enable the | ||
| election officers to serve at a polling place in shifts. | ||
| (b) In selecting judges and officers under Subsection (a), | ||
| the county clerk may select a person to serve as a judge or officer | ||
| at more than one polling place. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
