A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to selection of election officers for early voting.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 85, Election Code, is
  amended by adding Section 85.0092 to read as follows:
         Sec. 85.0092.  OPTIONAL EARLY VOTING ELECTION OFFICER
  SHIFTS. (a)  In selecting election officers for the main early
  voting polling place and any branch polling place, the county clerk
  may select a sufficient number of presiding judges, alternate
  presiding judges, and other election officers to enable the
  election officers to serve at a polling place in shifts.
         (b)  In selecting judges and officers under Subsection (a),
  the county clerk may select a person to serve as a judge or officer
  at more than one polling place.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
