relating to requests for certain information by the Office of Court | ||
Administration | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 71.035, Government Code, is amended by | ||
adding subsection (e) to read as follows: | ||
(e) In accordance with its authority described in | ||
subsection (b), the council shall request: | ||
(1) statistics related to reductions of state jail | ||
felony punishment to misdemeanor punishment in accordance with | ||
Section 12.44(a) and (b), Penal code, including the number and type | ||
of offenses for which courts sentenced defendants in under Section | ||
12.44(a), Penal Code, and the number and type of offenses for which | ||
court authorized prosecution of state jail felony offenses under | ||
Section 12.44 (b), Penal Code. | ||
(2) the number of defendants placed into pretrial | ||
diversion or pretrial intervention programs. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
