R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Lone Star Association of Charitable Clinics is |
|
|
|
|
|
holding its fourth annual state conference in Round Rock on March |
|
|
|
|
|
3-4, 2011; and |
|
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its founding in 2005, the association has been |
|
|
|
|
|
dedicated to increasing access to quality health care for the |
|
|
|
|
|
underserved, offering networking and educational opportunities for |
|
|
|
|
|
affiliates, and collecting and disseminating information relevant |
|
|
|
|
|
to its mission; and |
|
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, This worthwhile organization assists 60 member |
|
|
|
|
|
clinics and 5 associate member clinics, which together have more |
|
|
|
|
|
than 280,000 patient visits each year; often staffed extensively by |
|
|
|
|
|
volunteers, these vital centers provide a practical alternative to |
|
|
|
|
|
costly hospital and emergency room care; and |
|
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Lone Star Association of Charitable Clinics has |
|
|
|
|
|
worked to make efficient and effective medical treatment available |
|
|
|
|
|
to those who may otherwise go without, and its efforts have had a |
|
|
|
|
|
profound and positive influence on the citizens of Texas; now, |
|
|
|
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
|
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
|
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize March 3, 2011, as Lone Star |
|
|
|
|
|
Association of Charitable Clinics Day and extend to all involved |
|
|
|
|
|
with the clinics sincere best wishes for continued success with |
|
|
|
|
|
their important work; and, be it further |
|
|
|
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
|
|
|
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
|
|
|
House of Representatives. |
