WHEREAS, Dorothy Hightower of Waco passed away on March 21, | ||
2011, at the age of 87, leaving her circle of family and friends to | ||
cherish their many happy memories of time spent in her company; and | ||
WHEREAS, Born on April 11, 1923, Mrs. Hightower enjoyed a | ||
rewarding relationship with her husband, Jack Hightower, until his | ||
death, and they were the parents of five children, Candy, Jimmy, and | ||
Rick, as well as Suzanne and Linda, who preceded their mother in | ||
death; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mrs. Hightower was an ordained minister, and through | ||
the years she dutifully served several churches and ministries in | ||
the Waco area; and | ||
WHEREAS, Dorothy Hightower lived a rich and purposeful life | ||
centered around her faith and her family, and the joy she found in | ||
both will long be a source of inspiration for all who were fortunate | ||
enough to know her; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dorothy Hightower | ||
and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her | ||
daughter, Candy Spence, and her husband, Eric; to her sons, Jimmy | ||
Hightower and Rick Hightower and his wife, Sharon; to her | ||
grandchildren, April, Aaron, Shane, Erica, Denise, Rachel, Renee, | ||
Guy, Toni, and Gabi; to her great-grandchildren; to her sister, | ||
Eunice Nowicki; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dorothy | ||
Hightower. | ||
