R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Virginia
  Baskett of Waco, who passed away on April 4, 2011, at the age of 50;
  and
         WHEREAS, The former "Ginger" Melton was born on September 9,
  1960, to Jack and Cecile Melton; she attended school in the Waco
  Independent School District and went on to enjoy a notable career as
  a certified nurse's aide and medical aide; and
         WHEREAS, A caring wife and mother, she was initially married
  to Lee Davis, who preceded her in death; fortunate to find love
  again, she later wed Gary Baskett, and the couple shared a rewarding
  life together; Ms. Baskett took pleasure in spending time with her
  family, including her daughters, stepdaughters, and grandchildren;
  and
         WHEREAS, Ginger Baskett touched many lives with her kindness
  and compassion, and she will forever be fondly remembered by all
  those who were privileged to share in her love and friendship; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Virginia Baskett and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  husband, Gary Baskett; to her daughters, Amanda Mendoza, Shady
  Gonzales and her husband, Joe, and Melissa Martinez and her
  husband, Fernando; to her stepdaughters, Rachel and Arianna
  Baskett; to her grandchildren, Princess, De De, Rai, A. J., Audri,
  Mikel, Chris, and Jessica; to her sister, Brenda Walker, and her
  husband, Roy; to her niece, Susan Spradlin, and her husband, Dave;
  to her nephew, David Worley; to her special family, Amber Lamark,
  Lorena Castillo, Melissa Tucker, Cheryl Johnson, and Demetrick
  Robertson; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Virginia
  Baskett.
