A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to the term of interlocal contracts.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 791.011, Government Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (i) to read as follows:
         (i)  Notwithstanding Subsections (d) and (f), an interlocal
  contract between municipalities or counties may have a specified
  term of years.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect on the date on which the
  constitutional amendment proposed by the 82nd Legislature, Regular
  Session, 2011, to authorize the legislature to allow cities or
  counties to enter into interlocal contracts with other cities or
  counties without the imposition of a tax or the provision of a
  sinking fund is approved by the voters. If that amendment is not
  approved by the voters, this Act has no effect.
