Summary

Filing of petitions and motions by designated nonattorney employees of the Department of Social Services; practice of law; duties of local directors of social services. Allows designated nonattorney employees of the Department of Social Services to file certain petitions and motions relating to child protective services and foster care services and provides that such filing is not considered the unauthorized practice of law. The bill further requires a local director of social services to designate nonattorney employees who are authorized to file certain petitions and motions relating to child protective services, foster care services, and support and states that all petitions or motions filed by nonattorney employees of local departments of social services prior to July 1, 2016, are valid.
