A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MS. BRIDGETTE WHITING UPON BEING NAMED THE 2023-2024 STAR TEACHER FOR THE OCEAN SPRINGS SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE SECOND NINE WEEKS.
WHEREAS, Ms. Bridgette Whiting, an 8th grade teacher at Ocean Springs Middle School, was named the 2023-2024 Star Teacher for the Ocean Springs School District for the second nine weeks, a true testament to her abundance of hard work and unwavering dedication to providing an excellent education to the students at Ocean Springs Middle School; and
WHEREAS, the Ocean Springs School District Shining Star Program honors teachers who are making a significant difference in the lives of students and their school cultures, and the winners receive a nice framed picture of the award as well as accommodations provided by local vendors as well as recognition by the school board and the entire district; and
WHEREAS, the program has been a wonderful way to recognize those people who always come to work with a smile on their face and are willing to create a positive learning environment; and
WHEREAS, throughout her tenure as an educator in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Ms. Whiting has played a vital role in equipping her students with the life lessons and wisdom that will be essential for each of them to reach their fullest potential, fulfill their dreams and achieve greatness, and her superb leadership and instruction has not only bettered the lives of her students at Ocean Springs Middle School but also the lives of the youth throughout this great state; and
WHEREAS, teachers such as Ms. Whiting, who strive daily, both inside and outside of the classroom, to provide a quality education and inclusive environment where students can grow, feel free to make mistakes and nurture their individual traits, talents and creative abilities, are truly a blessing to the state's entire educational community, particularly the Ocean Springs School District; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Whiting serves as an illuminated beacon of promise to the students, faculty and staff throughout the State of Mississippi, each of whom reaps the daily benefits of her strenuous efforts to ensure that the children entrusted to her tutelage are successful in their academic pursuits and in each facet of their lives moving forward; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend fine Mississippi educators, especially those such as Ms. Bridgette Whiting, who not only enhance the minds of our youth, but bring great pride and recognition to our state:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Ms. Bridgette Whiting upon being named the 2023-2024 Star Teacher for the Ocean Springs School District for the second nine weeks and extend our most sincere wishes for continued success in all her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ms. Bridgette Whiting and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
