A RESOLUTION COMMENDING REPRESENTATIVE DENNIS DEBAR, JR., FOR HIS YEARS OF OUTSTANDING AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI AND WISHING HIM WELL UPON HIS RETIREMENT.
WHEREAS, the Honorable and distinguished gentleman from Greene County, Representative Dennis DeBar, Jr., is retiring from the Mississippi House of Representatives after four years of outstanding and dedicated service to the State of Mississippi and its many citizens; and
WHEREAS, in 2011, he proudly entered his freshman year of the Mississippi House of Representatives to serve his beloved District 105 comprised of Forrest, George, Greene, Perry and Wayne Counties; and
WHEREAS, during his election, he ran unopposed in the Republican primary and staunchly defeated his Democratic opponent; and
WHEREAS, Representative DeBar has led a distinguished career while in the Legislature, and has diligently served the people of his district on the following committees: Corrections, Education, Judiciary B, Judiciary En Banc, Public Health and Human Services and Accountability, Efficiency, Transparency, under the leadership of Speaker Philip Gunn; and
WHEREAS, he has worked hard to promote economic development, job creation, fiscal responsibility, lower taxes, better education and public safety; and
WHEREAS, he is also an active and passionate member of the National Rifle Association, the Reserve Officer Association and Rotary International; and
WHEREAS, he has been lovingly supported in his political endeavors, by his wife Kelley, and their adorable two children, Nathan and Leilani; and
WHEREAS, a devout member of the Methodist church, he is looking forward to serving the people of Mississippi in his future endeavors; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to honor one of our own, who has represented his district, as well as this legislative body, with honor and dignity:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Representative Dennis DeBar, Jr., upon his retirement from the Mississippi House of Representatives, honor his service to the people of the State of Mississippi and wish him success in all of his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Representative Dennis DeBar, Jr., and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
