STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 8122 IN SENATE March 23, 2020 ___________ Introduced by Sen. COMRIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Cities AN ACT in relation to authorizing the New York city department of finance to extend until June 15, 2020, the deadline for the filing of applications and renewal applications for certain real property tax abatement programs in the interest of the health and safety of the public due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The New York city department of finance is authorized, in 2 the interest of the health and safety of the public due to coronavirus 3 disease (COVID-19), to extend the deadline of March 15, 2020 to June 15, 4 2020, for the filing of applications and renewal applications for the 5 following real property tax abatement programs: 6 Senior Citizen Homeowner's Exemption (SCHE) 7 Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption (SCRIE) 8 Disabled Homeowners' Exemption (DHE) 9 Disabled Rent Increase Exemption (DRIE) 10 Alternative Veterans Tax Exemption 11 Clergy Exemption 12 § 2.
