relating to the effect of a delay by the State Board for Educator | ||
Certification in renewing an educator's certification. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 21.0031, Education Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: | ||
(f) For purposes of this section, a certificate or permit is | ||
not considered to have expired if: | ||
(1) the employee has completed the requirements for | ||
renewal of the certificate or permit; and | ||
(2) the date the certificate or permit would have | ||
expired is before the date the State Board for Educator | ||
Certification takes action to approve the renewal of the | ||
certificate or permit. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
