        Introduced  by  Sen.  CLEARE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government -- recom-
          mitted to the Committee on Local Government in accordance with  Senate
          Rule  6,  sec.  8  --  committee  discharged,  bill  amended,  ordered
          reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee

        AN ACT to amend the real property tax law, in relation to information to
          be provided with all new and renewal leases for certain housing accom-
          modations

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1.  Subparagraph 2 of paragraph i of subdivision 3 of section
     2  467-b of the real property tax law, as added by chapter 424 of the  laws
     3  of 2015, is amended to read as follows:
     4    (2)  a  landlord of any housing accommodation subject to provisions of
     5  the local emergency housing  rent  control  act,  the  emergency  tenant
     6  protection act of nineteen seventy-four or any local laws enacted pursu-
     7  ant thereto, the emergency housing rent control law or the rent stabili-
     8  zation law of nineteen hundred sixty-nine shall, at least once annually,
     9  [including] provide with [a] all new [lease and all] and renewal leases,
    10  and  any  written lease modifications, delivered to the occupant of such
    11  accommodation, [provide] the informational material describing eligibil-
    12  ity for and the benefits of the senior citizen rent  increase  exemption
    13  program  and the disability rent increase exemption program, as provided
    14  by the entity administering the program pursuant to subparagraph one  of
    15  this  paragraph; provided however, that any such information provided as
    16  part of a new or renewal lease, or  written  lease  modification,  shall
    17  count toward the requirement for two annual notices.
    18    § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after
    19  it shall have become a law.
